This app is written and illustrated by Chris Haughton, the highly acclaimed children's author. There is a bonus selection of his books within the app, however they are slightly difficult to read in this form. The app itself gives plenty of opportunities for communication rich skills, such as an option for calling and speaking to Hat Monkey. The text messaging activity is great for early expression and writing, with children able to choose from 4 different symbols - again a great opportunity for adults to ask what they are choosing and for children to do an 'adult' activity. Listening and attention skills are challenged by asking children to play hide and seek and copy Hat Monkey's dance moves. Written words need to be read by adults, which make this app great for sharing.
Other notable themes and features of the app include Animals, Dancing, Music, No narrative.
