This app features an animated story told by an engaging narrator. The story is about otherness and accepting difference. In a place where only dogs are allowed to go to school, Lucy, the cat, disguises as a dog and proves the dog community wrong when she saves the day after an accident with the school bus. Every few scenes there is an interactive activity related to the story. The rhythm and balance of the story and the interactive features are appropriate to actively engage preschoolers in meaningful ways. They can learn to follow the narrative becoming progressively involved in it through play. Simple literacy and numeracy activities are integrated through these interactions, for instance counting the cat's claws or putting the letters in order to form the protagonist's adopted name, Rocky. The illustrations are beautiful collages that are likely to catch children's attention.
